With registration open until August 3, the event will address topics such as ethics in AI, regulation and use of emerging technologies, and their impact on society.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For two days, experts working and studying the topic in different institutions across the country will give lectures that should promote interdisciplinary debate on the subject.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The debate about interdisciplinarity involving Artificial Intelligence is one of the objectives of the organizers of the Meeting, which is open to the general public free of charge in the online version. There are also 50 places reserved for in-person attendance, subject to a registration fee. Another 70 seats in the auditorium will be reserved for students from Ilum School of Science and collaborators to the CNPEM, Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials. Lecture topic: <strong>&#8220;The impacts of the new industrial revolution driven by AI&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Edmundo<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Albuquerque de Souza e Silva<\/strong> \u2013 PhD in Computer Science from the University of Los Angeles, full professor of the Systems and Computer Engineering Program at COPPE\/UFRJ. CNPq Researcher I-A. Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences. Lecture topic: <strong>&#8220;Considerations on the AI \u200b\u200bEra in Universities: Challenges and Suggestions\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Giselle Beiguelman<\/strong> \u2013 artist and professor at the Faculty of Architecture, Urbanism, and Design at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP). Researches art and activism in the networked city and the aesthetics of memory in contemporary times. She is the author of Image Politics: Surveillance and Resistance in the Datasphere (UBU Editora, 2021) and Amnesia Memory: Politics of Forgetting (Edi\u00e7\u00f5es SESC, 2019). Lecture topic: <strong>&#8220;Artificial Intelligence and the New Image Politics: Emerging Archives and Persistent Erasures&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Glauco Arbix <\/strong>\u2014 full professor at the Department of Sociology at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo. Was a member of the Brazilian Council for Science and Technology (CCT, 2007-2011) and General Coordinator of the Observatory of Innovation and Competitiveness of the Institute of Advanced Studies at USP (2007-2011). Lecture topic: <strong>&#8220;AI and scientific research: potential and risks&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Iara Lis Schiavinatto<\/strong> <strong>\u2013<\/strong> PhD in History from the State University of Campinas, coordinator of the undergraduate course in Media Studies at Unicamp, leading its implementation. Full professor of the postgraduate programs in History and Visual Arts at Unicamp. Lecture topic: <strong>&#8220;Media and Images in Action\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Osvaldo Novais de Oliveira Junior<\/strong> \u2013 PhD in Physics from Bangor University, Wales, UK. Director of the S\u00e3o Carlos Institute of Physics-USP. Founding member of the Interinstitutional Center for Computational Linguistics (NILC). Former President of the Brazilian Materials Research Society (SBPMat), from 2016 to 2020, and President of the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS)<strong>. <\/strong>Lecture topic: <strong>&#8220;The Fifth Paradigm and Machine Knowledge Generation\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Ronaldo Mota<\/strong> \u2013 was a postdoctoral researcher in Physics at the University of Utah, USA. Holder of the Artificial Intelligence Chair at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. CNPq level 1 researcher in Modeling and Simulation in Materials Science. National Secretary for Technological Development and Innovation of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation. Executive Secretary of the National Council of Education, National Secretary of Distance Education, National Secretary of Higher Education and Acting Minister of the Ministry of Education. Lecture topic: <strong>&#8220;Artificial Intelligences and Metacognition&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Virg<\/strong><strong>\u00edlio Augusto Fernandes Almeida<\/strong> \u2013 PhD in Computer Science from Vanderbilt University (USA). Member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences and full professor at the Department of Computer Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Is also a member of the Academy of Science for the Developing World (TWAS).
