CNPEM Immersion
The course entitled CNPEM Immersion, which is part of Ilum’s Bachelor in Science and Technology (BCT) program from the 1st through the 6th semesters, is one of the most important components of the curriculum. It serves as the student’s intensive and interdisciplinary introduction to scientific practice, taking full advantage of the infrastructure in the CNPEM laboratories. Offered every semester of the BCT program, the main objective of this course is to accelerate the maturing of students in conducting science. This immersion at CNPEM is planned and the activities are integrated into the theoretical course content for that semester, so students can get more out of their experience in the labs and spaces within CNPEM.
The topics of the planned projects are integrated into the lines of research and areas of expertise at CNPEM, and include:
- Automation, robotics, instrumentation and scientific computing;
- Materials science and nanotechnology;
- Molecular and cell biology and microbiology;
- Natural resources, biotechnology, technological processes;
- Spectroscopy and imaging techniques.
Our graduates
From students to valuable professionals
Here at Ilum, we do not train specialists. we place great value on training the whole person. We believe that scientific and technological training involves multiple types of knowledge. and professionals who are prepared to face the challenges of the present and future in a wide-ranging manner will stand out. Thinking like a scientist demands we look at science with an interdisciplinary approach. The ability to bring together different areas is the key to solving the world’s complex problems. In this way, Ilum students will have the chance to build solid foundations that permit them to work in various fields of knowledge.
